Job summary

emagine is seeking a Backend Java Developer to enhance and develop Java-based applications for pension and savings products, focusing on taxation, account management, and investment processing while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role includes upgrading to Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.3.x, building calculation engines for cross-country tax rules, and delivering robust software through the full SDLC in a hybrid setup with offices in Warsaw and Gdańsk.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate).
• Experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot upgrades.
• Strong SQL skills and PostgreSQL.
• Familiar with JMS/MQ messaging protocols.
• Knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of design patterns and OOP.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade applications to at least Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.3.x with upgrade experience.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications for savings and investment products.
• Build robust calculation engines to ensure tax compliance across countries.
• Develop support for complex business processes, integrating with tax authorities, and generating reports.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with financial analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.

The Backend Java Developer role focuses on enhancing and developing Java-based applications, specifically managing taxation, account management, and investment processing for pension and savings products. The primary goal is to ensure compliance with regulations while delivering robust software solutions.

Main Responsibilities

• Upgrade applications to at least Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.3.x, with experience in upgrade projects.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications for savings and investment products.
• Build robust calculation engines to ensure compliance with tax regulations across countries.
• Develop support for complex business processes, integrating with tax authorities, and generating customer-facing reports.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with financial analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Key Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.)
• Experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot upgrades.
• Proficiency in relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with messaging protocols such as JMS, MQ, etc.
• Knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Knowledge of best practices in software development.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
