Job summary

Sword Group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to lead enterprise ICT architecture across on-prem and cloud environments. You will translate business requirements into robust architecture, design roadmaps, and drive modernization initiatives while ensuring security, performance, and interoperability.

The role requires 8+ years in IT, strong Microsoft ecosystem knowledge, and proficiency with modelling tools like Sparx EA and ARIS. English fluency and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant IT experience, including at least 5 years in an Infrastructure Architect or similar role.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide ICT systems and infrastructure architectures.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization, containerization, on-premises infrastructure, and cloud environments.
• Experience with capacity planning, infrastructure security, performance optimization, and integration architecture.
• Knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, System Center, databases, application servers, middleware, and monitoring solutions.
• Understanding of cloud integration patterns, hybrid infrastructure, system integration, and modern workplace solutions.
• Experience with infrastructure architecture modelling and tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect and ARIS Architect.
• Knowledge of UML, ArchiMate, and architecture styles, principles, and design patterns.
• Familiarity with ITIL v4, DevSecOps, and enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain infrastructure architecture standards, principles, and design guidelines.
• Translate business and technical requirements into infrastructure architecture solutions.
• Assess existing ICT systems and identify opportunities for modernization, migration, and optimization.
• Design architecture roadmaps and ensure interoperability between enterprise systems.
• Evaluate infrastructure solutions and technologies against business requirements, security, performance, and quality objectives.
• Lead architecture design activities and support development, testing, implementation, and change management.
• Coordinate with technical teams and stakeholders to resolve architectural challenges and ensure consistent implementation.
• Maintain architecture documentation, models, and required artefacts within the Enterprise Architecture repository.
• Contribute to project planning, technical presentations, risk assessments, and technology selection.

About the role...

The successful candidate will work in a multinational environment on a multitude of tasks supporting our business in implementing and developing solutions for large EU and international institutions and private sector companies in Greece and abroad.
