Job summary

UPM is seeking a Specialist, Sourcing Operations to join UPM in Wrocław. You will lead IT-focused indirect sourcing projects, develop strategies, and manage supplier relationships in a global procurement function.

The role requires a master’s in a related field, strong English, and experience with SAP Ariba. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment and contribute to sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or other relevant professional qualification in procurement, business, IT, or related field.
• Strong interest in technology, AI, digitalization, and innovation.
• Experience in IT sourcing or procurement is an advantage.
• Fluent in English.
• Additional language skills (Finnish, German, or French) valued.
• Experience with SAP Ariba and other digital sourcing tools.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build relationships in multicultural, cross-functional teams.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end sourcing projects across indirect material categories, with a strong focus on IT, utilizing sourcing tools such as RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and e-auctions
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver business value, identify cost optimization opportunities, and support organizational objectives
• Negotiate and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring value creation, compliance, and effective risk mitigation
• Act as a trusted sourcing advisor, influencing stakeholders and supporting strategic decision-making in complex procurement initiatives
• Drive change and innovation by implementing new ways of working, leveraging digital procurement tools, and enhancing sourcing processes
• Monitor supplier performance, build strong supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement across the supply base
• Champion procurement best practices, compliance, and risk management across sourcing and contracting activities
• Drive operational excellence by ensuring an efficient, effective, and streamlined Source-to-Contract process

Who you are

• You hold a master’s degree or another relevant professional qualification in procurement, business, IT, or a related field
• You have a strong interest in technology, AI, digitalization, and innovation.
• Experience in IT sourcing or procurement is an advantage
• You communicate fluently in English.
• Additional language skills relevant to UPM's key markets, such as Finnish, German, or French, are highly valued
• Experience with SAP Ariba and other digital sourcing and procurement tools is considered a strong asset
• You are a customer-focused and service-oriented professional with excellent communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills

Additional information

This position offers a hybrid working model, combining remote work from home with regular on‑site collaboration in Wrocław. The position holder will report to Senior Manager, Sourcing and Procurement Operations.
