Job summary

HSBC is seeking a risk and compliance professional to join the HBCE Risk Permanent Control team in Poland. The role focuses on independent assurance testing of RC and FC controls across both 1LoD and 2LoD within HSBC Continental Europe.

You will identify issues, draft concise reports, and work with Risk Owners and Stakeholders to implement robust action plans, while ensuring compliance with the Monitoring Programme.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Compliance RC and FC risks.
• Understanding of Risk & Control framework in financial services and European regulation.
• Strong analytical skills with clear reasoning and justifications.
• Ability to build positive partnerships with key stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a major financial institution with international reporting.
• High level of personal integrity.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Execute independent testing and review of RC/FC controls across 1LoD and 2LoD within HBCE.
• Identify deficiencies, weaknesses, and root causes to enable effective action plans.
• Validate findings with stakeholders and escalate significant control deficiencies.
• Draft reports proposing issues, summarising findings and root causes.
• Inform Risk Owners, Control Owners and Risk Stewards of control design and operational effectiveness.
• Support design and execution of control activities, testing templates and tools.
• Ensure testing activities comply with HBCE’s Compliance Monitoring Programme.
• Participate in defining the Annual Compliance Monitoring Plan with HBCE teams.
