Job summary

Pawtucket School Department is seeking an IEP Program Specialist with building-level support for Francis J. Varieur and Agnes E. Little Elementary Schools in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

The role focuses on managing special education services, mandates, and timelines to ensure IDEA compliance and effective communication with families. The position includes leading IEP development, data reporting, coordinating evaluations, and supporting staff with testing accommodations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of teaching experience preferred.
• RI Certification as Special Education Teacher required, with relevant assignment.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required.

Responsibilities

• Support building principals and staff in special education compliance.
• Lead IEP writing and development with quality and timeliness.
• Track timelines and reports for evaluations, annual IEPs, and reviews.
• Coordinate ESY packets, data, and meetings to support interventions.
• Serve as liaison among school, district, and external agencies.
