Ice Protection Methods and Tools Designer - Airbus Commercial Engineering Center

Role Overview

Join the “System Integration” department responsible for the seamless integration of the Propulsion System into Airbus aircraft. Within the department, Wing and Nacelle Ice Protection Systems (IPS) are crucial for ensuring aircraft safety and performance. As the Ice Protection Methods and Tools Designer, you will be in charge of developing and maintaining Wing and Nacelle IPS, methods, and tools for Airbus commercial aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Design Ice Protection System activities to support aircraft programme evolutions and participate in future technologies maturation.
• Identify, perform, or support the team on projects aimed at improving knowledge of icing conditions or methods used to develop the Ice Protection System.
• Control the evolutions of existing methods and tools: manage the evolution of current tools, integrate new tools, propose improvements, and design new methods adapted to future aircraft challenges.

The Ideal Profile

Education & Experience

• Engineering degree in Mechanical/System Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2 to 5 years in Mechanical design, System Integration, or modelling.
• English at negotiation level.

Technical Competencies

• Aeronautics context and certification framework (CS-25, CS-E).
• System engineering and mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermal, and thermodynamic engineering.
• Scientific computation and modelling skills.
