Structure Design & Integration Engineer - Airbus Commercial Engineering Center
Airbus is launching a new Commercial Aircraft Engineering Centre in Poland, focused on propulsion systems. The role is part of the Propulsion Airframe domain and involves the full product lifecycle from Research & Technology through development and in‑service support.
Role Overview
As a Structural Design & Integration Engineer you will design nacelle and pylon airframe products and physically integrate propulsion system components. Responsibilities include contributing to proprietary products (e.g., air inlet, pylon design), specifying and validating supplier nacelle components, and integrating all major propulsion system parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Structure design and validation
- Lead technical design solutions, signatures, and routines
- Ensure co‑design with manufacturing approach
- Integrate innovative solutions across multiple architectures
- Integrate multidisciplinary requirements: safety, system installation, manufacturing technologies, tolerancing, stress, material, process, operability
- CAD modelling from Space Allocation Mockup to Geometrical Reference Mock‑up, including detailed design and definition dossiers for industrialisation
- System installation design and optimisation – develop efficient electrical, fuel, hydraulic, bleed, fire, drainage solutions to reduce weight, cost and improve reliability, performance, manufacturability, and maintainability
- Lead implementation of solutions on existing and next‑generation aircraft
- Identify and mature new system installation concepts (e.g., routing, integration solutions)
- Support technology leaders in design studies and Technology Readiness Level reviews
- Resolve complex system topics (e.g., ATA 36, ATA 24) – define design solutions, drawings, concessions, repairs
- Coordinate with stakeholders – controllers, production, support, project teams, R&T, and Chief Engineering
- Propulsion physical integration – coordinate with engine or nacelle manufacturers, manage ICD, DMU integration and FAL installation drawings, update configurations
- Perform installation feasibility studies, clash analysis, tolerancing stack‑ups and validate product changes
- Support production with non‑conformance handling and MAP queries
- Lead improvement projects for recurring costs and performance, using DDMS and continuous improvement methodology
Ideal Profile
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or System Engineering (or related discipline)
- 2–10 years of experience in mechanical design or system integration
- Knowledge of aeronautics context and CS‑25 certification framework is a plus
- English at a negotiation level
Technical Competencies
- Advanced CATIA V5 skills; 3Dx experience a plus
- Knowledge of means of manufacturing
- Basic structure pre‑sizing knowledge
- Understanding of tolerancing (ISO standards)
- Capacity to foster innovation, creativity and capitalisation
