Job summary

Verisk is hiring a Software Development Manager in Kraków to lead a globally distributed team building enterprise applications using microservices. You will guide architecture, design, and delivery of cloud-native solutions, mentoring engineers and coordinating with stakeholders to meet business goals.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, Agile delivery, and collaboration with cross-functional partners to drive innovation and efficiency in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of engineering teams delivering enterprise applications.
• Strong background in software architecture and design for cloud-native systems.
• Experience with microservices and large distributed architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud environments.
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and GenAI tools.
• Proven ability to drive Agile software delivery and technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software developers/analysts through design, development, testing, and deployment of large distributed systems.
• Mentor and coach a globally distributed team to achieve annual goals.
• Handle people-management duties including hiring, performance reviews, and growth opportunities.
• Communicate software solution expectations to internal customers and stakeholders.
• Design scalable, cost-effective solutions aligned with customer objectives.
• Plan and prioritize projects with senior management and allocate resources.
• Communicate status and escalations to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external vendors to manage contracts and resources.
