Job summary

Allegro Ltd. is looking for a Junior Big Data Engineer to build and operate data-platform foundations at scale. You’ll work with production data pipelines, learn BigQuery, Airflow, and other Google Cloud services, and grow beyond reporting into software engineering for enterprise data products.

You will collaborate with engineers, analysts and product stakeholders to understand data product usage and contribute to data governance and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with Python, Java or Kotlin.
• Ability to write clean, tested code and learn modern practices.
• Solid SQL fundamentals.
• Understanding of data modeling, relational databases, APIs and common data formats (JSON, CSV, Avro, Parquet).
• Interest in cloud platforms, distributed systems and data processing at scale.
• English level at B2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain parts of production data pipelines and services.
• Learn to use BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), GCS and other GCP services.
• Implement data ingestion, validation, data-quality checks, monitoring and automation.
• Handle structured, semi-structured and event data (Avro, Protobuf, Parquet, JSON, CSV).
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts and product stakeholders.
