Job summary

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in system design and API design.
• Proven track record delivering scalable secure enterprise systems.
• 5+ years as Lead/Principal Engineer translating ambiguous requirements into technical direction.
• Background in solution architecture is a plus.
• Experience in governance-heavy environments requiring transparency and documentation.
• Ability to translate group-level strategies into local engineering roadmaps.
• Proven ability to work independently and drive structure and direction.
• Team-oriented decision-making and collaboration in architecture.
• Fluency in English and cultural awareness in a multinational enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain and evolve architectural standards and guardrails aligned with IB and GCTO strategy.
• Own architectural governance processes within the IB CTO function.
• Act as GCTO contact for the Investment Bank and represent IB CTO in group initiatives.
• Ensure clear communication across group initiatives and coordinate responses.
• Triage incoming IB and GCTO work to determine impact and coordinate responses.
• Shield the core architecture team by absorbing operational and coordination tasks.
• Support IB engineering teams with early engagement on new initiatives.
• Address architectural considerations from ideation through delivery.
• Translate group-level strategies into actionable roadmaps for local teams.
