EPAM Systems in Poland is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and enhance data products and technology services for risk managers, quants, and other stakeholders. Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL development, or software application development.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python, PySpark, and ETL development.
• Proven experience with Databricks and large-scale data processing workflows.
• Knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL, and data modeling.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
• English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher.
• Nice to have Experience in capital markets and working knowledge of financial instruments.
• Experience with Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, and enterprise scheduling tools (e.g., AutoSys).
• Hands-on development background in Java or C#.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve digital products and technology services provided to risk managers, quants, and other key stakeholders.
• Apply a broad range of engineering standards — from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automated testing and deployment.
• Ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Build observability into solutions, monitor production health, help resolve incidents, and remediate root causes of risks and issues.
• Understand, represent, and advocate for client and business needs.
• Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, help with hiring, and contribute regularly to internal engineering communities.
