Job summary

EPAM Systems in Poland is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and enhance data solutions for risk managers and quants. You will apply modern engineering practices to build reliable, secure data platforms and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid setup based in Wrocław or Kraków.

The role requires 2+ years of data engineering, strong Python and PySpark skills, Databricks experience, and solid SQL/Oracle data modeling knowledge. English at B2+ is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL, or software development.
• Strong hands-on Python, PySpark, and ETL development.
• Experience with Databricks and large-scale data processing workflows.
• Knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL, and data modeling.
• Experience in Agile environments and cross-functional collaboration.
• English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher.
• Nice to have: Capital markets experience; Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, and AutoSys; Java or C#.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve data products and technology services for risk managers, quants, and other key stakeholders.
• Apply engineering standards from requirements gathering to testing and deployment.
• Ensure quality, security, reliability, and compliance of solutions while building observability and monitoring production health.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and share knowledge within the engineering community.
