Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Kraków's research center seeks a Researcher with High Performance Computing expertise to explore modern hardware and software for parallel algorithms and power grid applications.

You will join a dynamic team that balances theory with practice, creating, testing and validating new technologies to enable the energy transition. The role involves leading R&D, evaluating GPU/TPU tech, and collaborating with academia and industry.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Ability to conduct all phases of a software project.
• Familiar with cluster and GPU/TPU HPC architectures on premises and in the cloud.
• Experience with SW libraries for HPC architectures (CUDA, MPI) and distributed systems.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global researchers and engineers to solve real-world HPC challenges.
• Lead R&D projects creating mathematical solvers for intensive computations.
• Evaluate 3rd party components like GPU/TPU technologies for products.
• Advise researchers on code optimization for target platforms.
• Network within the company and disseminate knowledge and expertise.
• Collaborate with universities, open-source groups, startups and vendors.
• Disseminate results in publications, patents and technical reports.
