Job summary

Hedepy Ltd. is seeking a Head of People to own the HR function across 9 European markets. You will automate processes, design scalable HR operations, and lead the payroll lifecycle with external partners in CZ, SK, and PL.

This role reports directly to the CEO, sits on the leadership team, and interfaces with the board. You will drive priorities, structure, and governance for a growing contractor network, while maintaining a strong people-centric culture and robust compliance across

Qualifications

• 4+ years of HR experience with 2+ years owning the HR function.
• Operational HR craft: contracts, onboarding, offboarding, recruiting when needed.
• Independent labor law judgment in at least one CEE jurisdiction (CZ, SK or PL).
• Proven automation experience with Make and HRIS/ATS like Workable; active use of AI tools.
• End-to-end HR process building and ownership, not just design.
• You excel with people as well as systems; capable of hard conversations.
• English at C1 level, written and spoken; leadership/board communication.
• Native or fluent in Czech, Slovak, Polish, Hungarian, or Romanian.

Responsibilities

• Own the full employee lifecycle across internal teams: hiring, onboarding, retention, offboarding.
• Lead and develop Recruiter Veru with priorities and capacity planning.
• Manage contracts, addendums, B2B structures and compliance with external counsel as backup.
• Oversee monthly payroll cycle across CZ, SK and PL with external partners.
• Redesign HR processes and automate with Make and AI where possible.
• Build and track people metrics from internal data to guide leadership.
• Support expansion into new markets and setups from a people perspective.
• Be the go-to for difficult conversations, conflicts, exits, and people support.
