Job summary

Danone in Bieruń is seeking a Head of Engineer to lead all capital projects for the Dairy facility, overseeing technical execution, timelines, and financial oversight. You will head the plant engineering team and coordinate with regional engineering on project alignment.

The role requires a Master’s degree in engineering or a related field, 8–10 years in engineering with 5 years in CPG beverage/food manufacturing, and prior people management experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Science or a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
• 8–10 years of experience in engineering roles.
• 5 years of relevant engineering experience in CPG beverage/food manufacturing.
• Previous people management experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering capital projects across processing, packaging, building and utility systems.
• Coordinate with cross-functional plant leadership to align project priorities.
• Create technical specifications, budgets, and project justification for new initiatives.
• Collaborate with CAPEX analysts and controllers on budgets and forecasts.
• Build and guide multi-functional teams of engineering managers and engineers.
• Develop tender documents and align with regional engineering and procurement during bidding.

About The Job

At Danone, our commitment to manufacturing the highest quality products and meeting market demand is a fundamental driver for our plant teams. We are currently seeking a Head of Engineer for our Dairy facility in Bierun. In this role, you will join the plant leadership team and be responsible for supporting all strategic, operational, and policy-related aspects of the plant, with a focus on safety, quality, performance, management, and organizational objectives. You will act as the primary point of contact for all capital projects within the plant, overseeing technical execution, timeline management, and financial oversight for each project.

Job Responsibilities

• Project execution for all current Processing, Packaging, Building and Utility projects
• Work with cross functional plant leadership team to align on project priorities
• Create technical specifications, preliminary budgets and project justification for new projects
• Work with CAPEX analyst and plant controller to manage the plant’s capital forecast and budget
• Coordinate and lead multi-functional teams (several engineering project managers and project engineers)
• Create, design and evaluate initial call for tender documents
• Work with Regional Engineering teams during bidding processes and technical alignment
• Work with the CAPEX procurement team to align on priorities and contract negotiations
• Edit and advise and implement Danone's Standards
• Serve as a technical and leadership resource for Danone initiatives
• Build capabilities within engineering team
• Occasional project specific travel required
• Work with cross functional team to develop and update site masterplan
• Manage plant engineering team (several engineering project managers and project engineers)

About You

Job Qualifications

• Experience and working knowledge in:

• • Integrated automation and controls technology
  • High speed packaging systems design
  • Dairy process engineering and PMO, 3A standards (if applicable)
  • Plant based process engineering (if applicable)
  • Manufacturing plant utility systems

Must be organized and self-disciplined to accommodate the management of concurrent projects

Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekend or late shifts, during installation/startup periods

Experience and Education Requirement

• Master's degree in an Engineering, Science or relevant degree from an accredited College or University
• 8 to 10 years of experience
  • 5 years of relevant Engineering experience required, preferably in CPG beverage/food manufacturing
• Previous people management experience required
