Job summary

Solaris Laser Sp. z o.o. seeks a seasoned Mechanical Engineering Leader to drive global standards, processes, and performance across our R&D organization.

You will lead a distributed engineering community, influence product development across sites, and ensure delivery of high-performance, cost-effective mechanical solutions. You will shape engineering methods, tools, and capabilities as part of a cross-disciplinary team of global leaders, while attracting and developing top talent and advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred).
• 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering R&D within global industrial environments.
• 10+ years of leadership experience across multiple regions.
• Experience across full product lifecycle.
• Experience leading global, cross-functional engineering teams.
• Able to travel internationally up to 10–15%.
• Strategic mindset with strong technical credibility and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to influence in a global matrix organization.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership that fosters collaboration, accountability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Engineering Discipline worldwide, aligning with business strategy and product roadmaps.
• Define and deploy global standards, methodologies, training, and tools for mechanical design and development.
• Act as a technical authority to engineering leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Support program execution and readiness for project gates across sites.
• Promote cross-team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Drive resource planning and capacity management for central and regional teams.
• Identify risks, drive mitigation plans, and lead problem solving for delivery/quality.
• Develop a high-performing, collaborative global engineering community.
• Lead hiring, performance management, and succession planning.
• Promote adoption of advanced tools and engineering practices.
• Lead continuous improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, and time-to-market.
