Job summary

ING Hubs Poland is hiring a Global Head of Security Operations Center to lead our worldwide SOC operations and incident response strategy. You will direct 24/7 monitoring, oversee a global team, and align security capabilities with the bank's cybersecurity objectives.

This leadership role requires 10+ years in information security, with 5+ years in SOC leadership, and strong collaboration across IT, risk, and compliance for locations including Warsaw and Katowice.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field is required.
• 10+ years of experience in information security is required.
• At least 5 years in SOC leadership roles, preferably within financial services or highly regulated sectors.
• Strong knowledge of security operations, incident response, SIEM, and security automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the global SOC vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with cybersecurity objectives.
• Direct 24/7 SOC operations, including threat monitoring, incident detection, response, and escalation procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing global SOC team across locations.
• Oversee the selection, deployment, and optimization of monitoring tools, SIEM, and automation platforms.
• Coordinate incident response for major security incidents with timely communication and resolution.
• Collaborate with IT, risk management, compliance, and business units to ensure effective incident response and risk mitigation.
• Define SOC KPIs, deliver reports to executive leadership, and drive improvements.
• Ensure SOC operations comply with regulations and internal policies (e.g., FFIEC, GDPR, SOX).

Qualifications

• at least 5 years in SOC leadership roles, preferably within the financial services sector, or highly regulated sector proven experience managing global teams and complex, cross-border and multi-regional SOC environments
• strong knowledge of security operations, threat intelligence, incident response, SIEM, and security automation
• relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM)
• excellent communication, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement skills

• Represent SOC in discussions with internal and external auditors

Additional Information

The role reports to the Global Head of Security Detection and Response and collaborates with local SOC teams, IT, risk management, and executive stakeholders across multiple locations. The Global Head of Security Operations Center (SOC) will be responsible for establishing and leading the bank's worldwide SOC strategy, operations, and capabilities. This managerial role ensures the protection of the organization's digital assets and information systems through effective monitoring, detection, response, and mitigation of cyber threats. The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be "IT Area Lead II".
