Job summary

PwC Polska is expanding its Finance Managed Services team. We are seeking an Accounting Expert to manage end-to-end GL processes in a project environment, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and system improvements.

The role requires 5+ years in GL, IFRS/GAAP knowledge, and strong ERP/Excel skills. English proficiency is essential; German is a plus. Hybrid work and extensive development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of General Ledger accounting experience.
• Strong IFRS and/or local GAAP knowledge.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closings and complex reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with senior stakeholders.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• German language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end GL accounting, including journals, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolving aged items.
• Act as subject matter expert for GL accounting; guide team and stakeholders.
• Ensure IFRS, local GAAP, and internal policy compliance.
• Identify process optimization opportunities and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• Participate in or lead projects on system implementations or migrations.

Finance Managed Services (FMS) in PwC Poland is rapidly expanding as part of the Managed Services Operations. You can play an important role in supporting and transforming the operations of our domestic and international Clients. We continuously enhance our operations by applying best practices, streamlining processes, and integrating cutting-edge technological solutions for our customers. Join us in shaping and transforming operations for our domestic and international clients, as we delve into diverse, complex projects and collaborate closely with expert consulting teams to provide comprehensive finance services, including accounting and reporting, tax as well as financial planning & analysis, across various sectors in the region.

Accounting Expert - project environment

• Managing end-to-end General Ledger accounting processes, including complex journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications,
• Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities,
• Performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, including the resolution of complex or aged items,
• Acting as a subject matter expert for GL accounting, providing guidance and technical support to the team and stakeholders,
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and internal policies,
• Identifying opportunities for process optimization and driving continuous improvement initiatives,
• Collaborating with internal and external auditors during audit processes,
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members in their professional development,
• Participating in or leading projects related to system implementations, migrations, or process transitions.
