Job summary

PwC Polska seeks an Accounting Expert to support and transform our General Ledger processes within a project environment. You will lead end-to-end GL activities, ensure accurate month/quarter/year-end closings, and provide expert guidance to the finance team across IFRS and local GAAP requirements.

You will work hybrid, collaborating with internal and external auditors, and mentor junior colleagues while contributing to system migrations and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of General Ledger accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing end-to-end General Ledger accounting processes, including complex journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications.
• Overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving aged items.
• Providing guidance as a subject matter expert for GL accounting.
• Ensuring IFRS/local GAAP compliance and internal policy adherence.
• Identifying process optimization opportunities and driving improvements.
• Collaborating with auditors during audits and mentoring junior staff.
• Participating in system implementations, migrations, or process transitions.

Finance Managed Services (FMS) in PwC Poland is rapidly expanding as part of the Managed Services Operations. You can play an important role in supporting and transforming the operations of our domestic and international Clients. Accounting Expert - project environment

Your future role:

• Managing end-to-end General Ledger accounting processes, including complex journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications,
• Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities,
• Performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, including the resolution of complex or aged items,
• Acting as a subject matter expert for GL accounting, providing guidance and technical support to the team and stakeholders,
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and internal policies,
• Identifying opportunities for process optimization and driving continuous improvement initiatives,
• Collaborating with internal and external auditors during audit processes,
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members in their professional development,
• Participating in or leading projects related to system implementations, migrations, or process transitions.

Apply if you have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting,
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP,
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle),
• Advanced MS Excel skills,
• Proven experience with month-end/year-end closing processes and complex reconciliations,
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders,
• Professional working proficiency in Englishwith proven ability to communicate effectively in a professional setting,
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach, and ability to work independently.
