Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Engineer - Gas Turbine Performance and Operability to support analysis and optimization of gas turbine and combined cycle power plant performance. You will work with experienced engineers to develop expertise in thermodynamics, combustion, and engineering simulation tools.

The role offers on-the-job training and a clear development path toward independently managing technical analyses and client-facing activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in power, chemical or process engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of gas turbine thermodynamics and fuel combustion.
• Basic knowledge of steam turbine and combined-cycle thermodynamics.
• Ability to analyze scenarios for steady-state and transient performance.
• Basic knowledge of turbine and power-plant simulators (NPSS, GTP, Gate Cycle, Ebsylon, Isaac) and process/dynamic simulators (HYSYS, Chemkin, Simulink).
• Familiarity with programming and data analysis: MATLAB, C++, VBA, MINITAB.
• Support business during Bid and Requisition processes.
• Good English communication; experience in international environments.

Responsibilities

• Participating in full product development and execution from early feasibility to positioning Gas Turbine products and solutions including Combine Cycle.
• Driving unit and system level performance to deliver customer solutions.
• Calculating and reporting performance against guaranteed values per industry codes and standards.
• Preparing fuel burnability feasibility studies.
• Design, develop and enhance technologies in performance, operability and combustion.
• Leading analytical and design activities using proven technologies and methods.
• Communicating with the organization and presenting to leaders and cross-functional teams.
