Job summary

OBI Smart Technologies in Katowice is seeking a full stack engineer to develop and evolve systems powering product and assortment management within a large retail ecosystem. You will build scalable backend services and frontend applications in an event-driven environment, collaborating with product owners, architects, and engineers to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.

Key duties include building backend services with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot, frontend with Vue.js, and leveraging Kafka

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in Computer Science or a comparable technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in full stack development using Java/Kotlin and Vue.js.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and frontend-backend integration.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems; familiarity with AWS, CI/CD and containerization.
• Strong English and Polish communication; readiness to work in a hybrid model in Katowice.

We are looking for a full stack engineer who wants to develop and evolve systems powering product and assortment management within a large retail ecosystem. You will contribute to building scalable backend services and frontend applications, working in an event-driven environment. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and architects to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions across the full stack.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain frontend applications using Vue.js.
• Translate business and product requirements into scalable and maintainable full stack solutions.
• Contribute to event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing using Kafka.
• Support integration of systems within AWS cloud and containerized environments.
• Work with PostgreSQL and design reliable data models.
• Collaborate with product, business, and engineering teams and contribute to code quality, testing, and system reliability.
