Job summary

OBI Smart Techologies in Katowice seeks a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join the Developer Experience team. You will design and build internal developer platforms, tools, and services to boost productivity and visibility; collaborate with DevOps on cloud infra and CI/CD; and drive architectural decisions and improvements.

The role requires 5+ years of fullstack delivery, strong TS/Node/NestJS skills, Vue/Nuxt frontend, and English/Polish fluency in a hybrid work setting in Katowice.

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in fullstack development with production delivery.
• Strong TypeScript/Node.js and NestJS experience.
• Frontend skills with Vue or Nuxt.
• Know-how on event-driven architectures and Kafka.
• Cloud familiarity (AWS ECS/EKS/EC2/IAM/Lambda) and SaaS deployments.
• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and IaC (Terraform/AWS CDK).
• Ability to discuss design, architecture, and cross-team challenges.
• Excellent English and Polish; willing to hybrid work in Katowice.

Job description

We are looking for a practical and collaborative Senior Fullstack Engineer to join the Developer Experience (DX) team in a large enterprise environment. The role focuses on building internal developer platforms, tools, and services that improve developer productivity, system visibility, and workflow automation. You will play a key role in shaping engineering solutions, making technical decisions, and driving improvements across the developer ecosystem.

• Design and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS, while making architectural decisions and evaluating trade-offs.


• Build and support frontend applications using Vue and Nuxt, ensuring good developer-facing UX.


• Develop internal tools and platforms that improve developer productivity, system visibility, and workflow automation.


• Evaluate technical solutions, balancing cost, performance, complexity, and maintainability.


• Collaborate with DevOps engineers on cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability integration.


• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvements.


• Build POCs to validate new technologies and drive experimentation.

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.


• Strong background in fullstack software development (5+ years) with hands‑on delivery of production systems.


• Solid command of TypeScript, Node.js, and backend frameworks such as NestJS.


• Practical knowledge of building frontend applications using Vue or Nuxt.


• Good understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka.


• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS: ECS, EKS, EC2, IAM, Lambda) and how services are deployed and operated.


• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / AWS CDK).


• Ability to work with technical design discussions, system architecture topics, and cross‑team engineering challenges.


• Strong communication skills in English and Polish, with readiness to work in a hybrid model in Katowice.
