Job summary

Emerald Zebra - Recruitment & Executive Search is representing a FinTech group seeking a Head of Projects in Warsaw, Poland. The role leads the Project Management team, shapes the project portfolio, and ensures delivery aligned with strategic objectives, budgets, and schedules.

You will drive governance, implement Agile and hybrid delivery models, and oversee executive-level reporting while mentoring PMs and collaborating with senior leadership to translate strategy into actionable roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in project management, including at least 3 years in a head of projects or similar leadership role.
• Proven track record delivering complex portfolios in technology-driven environments.
• FinTech/Financial services exposure is a strong advantage.
• Excellent command of English and Polish, written and verbal.
• Strong governance, portfolio management, budgeting and risk management.
• Solid SDLC understanding and delivery of technology projects.
• Exceptional stakeholder management with executive and board level influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Project Management team and establish governance frameworks across the organisation.
• Act as trusted advisor to COO/CIO, supporting and progressing wider team activities.
• Oversee delivery of strategic projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with objectives, budgets and timelines.
• Drive continuous improvement of delivery standards, tools and methodologies with Agile/hybrid delivery.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and performance management to PMs and cross-functional teams.
• Partner with senior leadership to translate strategy into executable roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
• Maintain executive-level reporting on project health, risks, dependencies and resources.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders and external vendors.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and delivery excellence.
