Job summary

Catena is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers, product, and engineering. You’ll own the technical side of the sales process, help plan pilots, ensure integrations run, and coordinate with our Engineering team to prioritize fast follows and incorporate feedback.

This role embeds with customers, shapes the product in the field, and informs the roadmap. You’ll work with the GTM team to move deals quickly and with our CTO on data quality; you’ll investigate issues and prevent

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset.
• Experience working with structured data (JSON, SQL, CSV).
• Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, and technical documentation.
• Ability to reason through messy, real-world systems.
• Clear communicator with technical and non-technical teams.
• Comfortable juggling multiple customers and integrations.
• Effective in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Customer & Field Execution: onboard customers, run pilots, fix integration issues, and validate real-world data.
• Integration Implementation & Debugging: build/test ingestion pipelines, mappings, webhooks end-to-end, validate integrations.
• Product Feedback Loop: surface field patterns and drive roadmap decisions with production insight.
• Partner Coordination & Docs: collaborate with telematics providers, improve internal and customer docs.
