Job summary

EY GDS Poland offers the NextGen Talent Internship for aspiring data engineers in Katowice, with two days in the office and three days remote. This paid, full‑time three‑month internship provides hands‑on experience building data pipelines and working with modern cloud platforms.

As a Junior Data Engineer, you will join a selective cohort with mentorship from EY professionals and access to EY’s learning ecosystem, AI‑focused training, and real client projects.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Understanding of Big Data platforms fundamentals and Data Warehousing concepts.
• Basic knowledge of at least one cloud platform: Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Good command of English, written and spoken.
• Minimum 3 months of relevant experience.
• Interest in AI/GenAI and modern digital tools.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Understanding of Big Data platforms fundamentals, relational database concepts, ETL/ELT processes and Data Warehousing principles.
• Basic knowledge of at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Basic knowledge of at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Minimum 3 months of relevant commercial, academic or project-based experience.
• Interest in and willingness to develop AI and GenAI skills, including the use of modern digital tools to enhance productivity, problem‑solving and business outcomes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an open mindset and willingness to work effectively in diverse, cross‑functional teams.

Ideally, you'll also have

• Experience working with modern data engineering technologies and frameworks.
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts and best practices.
• Understanding of data visualization and reporting solutions.
• Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD or version control tools.
• Participation in university, technology or innovation-related projects.
• German and/or French language skills.
