Job summary

Aptiv's engineering center in Krakow, Poland, seeks an Expert Machine Learning Engineer to drive the design and direction of advanced ML solutions for perception, behavior understanding, prediction and planning in automotive applications.

The role covers assisted and automated parking systems with data pipelines, model evaluation and collaboration across software and product teams. Strong Python and PyTorch skills are essential; experience in CV and multi-modal sensing is valued.

Qualifications

• MSc in Computer Science, ML, CV, Robotics or related field.
• Experience developing ML solutions in CV, ML, robotics, or related domains.
• Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience in CV tasks, DL architectures, temporal/sequential modelling, or multimodal learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize ML models for perception, prediction and planning.
• Design CV and multi-modal sensor processing solutions.
• Contribute to trajectory forecasting and automated planning algorithms.
• Build data processing, training and evaluation pipelines.
• Analyze large-scale datasets and validate model performance.

For our engineering center in Krakow, Poland, we are seeking an Expert Machine Learning Engineer to drive the design and technical direction of advanced machine learning solutions for perception, behavior understanding, prediction, and planning in automotive applications.

The role supports assisted and automated parking systems, spanning perception, environment understanding, trajectory prediction, and automated maneuver planning.

Your role

• Develop and optimize machine learning models for perception, prediction, and planning applications.
• Design solutions for computer vision and multi-modal sensor processing.
• Contribute to trajectory forecasting and automated planning algorithms.
• Build and maintain data processing, training, and evaluation pipelines.
• Analyze large-scale datasets and validate model performance in real-world scenarios.
• Collaborate with software, systems, and product engineering teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of algorithms, tools, and development processes.

Your background

• MSc in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a related field.
• Experience developing ML solutions in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or related domains.
• Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience in several of:
• Computer vision (detection, segmentation, tracking, 3D perception)
• Deep learning architectures (CNNs, Transformers, Vision Transformers)
• Temporal or sequential modeling
• Representation learning, self-supervised learning, or multimodal learning
• Experience with PyTorch or equivalent ML frameworks.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience working with datasets, training pipelines, and model evaluation.
• Good English communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with trajectory prediction, planning, or reinforcement learning.
• C++ programming experience.
• Experience with large-scale training infrastructure.
• Knowledge of model deployment and optimization.
• Experience with embedded or edge AI systems.
• Familiarity with ADAS, autonomous driving, or automotive datasets.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile development.
• PhD or scientific publications.
