My client is looking for an Enterprise Architect who will be hands-on and responsible for owning and evolving the client's enterprise technology architecture across the transformation portfolio. The role creates and maintains a coherent current-state, target-state and transition architecture, connecting applications, integrations, platforms and technology standards so that individual programmes deliver as part of one scalable enterprise blueprint. Working as the technology architecture authority within the Enterprise Design Authority (EDA), the role partners closely with Process, Data and Solution Architecture to turn business priorities into clear architecture decisions, roadmaps and delivery guardrails.
As the Enterprise Architect, you will:
- Own and continuously evolve the client's enterprise technology blueprint across GTM, Finance and Services, covering current-state, target-state and transition architectures across applications, platforms, integrations and key technology dependencies.
- Provide hands-on architecture oversight across the transformation portfolio: review solution designs, identify cross-programme dependencies and conflicts, challenge decisions where required, and ensure projects collectively move the client towards the agreed target architecture.
- Define pragmatic architecture principles, standards and reusable reference patterns across applications, integration, security, non-functional requirements and emerging technology, balancing enterprise consistency with delivery pace.
- Work as a peer with Process, Data and Solution Architecture through the EDA, translating business capabilities, target processes and data ownership into coherent technology choices and ensuring gaps, overlaps and dependencies are resolved end-to-end.
- Partner with programme leadership and delivery architects across major initiatives, including CRM/CPQ, ERP, MDM and other strategic platforms, to turn target architecture into implementation-ready designs, guardrails and acceptance criteria. Promote reuse of strategic commercial platforms and existing capabilities where they meet the business need, avoiding unnecessary bespoke solutions.
- Maintain architecture transparency through fit-for-purpose EA tooling and artefacts, including the application landscape, integration map, technology standards, decision records and sequenced transition roadmap. Use this view to support technology simplification and rationalisation where it creates clear business or delivery value.
The ideal Enterprise Architect:
- Brings substantial hands-on architecture experience in complex, international organisations, including broad Enterprise Architecture responsibility and direct ownership of architecture artefacts used to drive implementation decisions.
- Has strong technology architecture breadth across enterprise applications and integration, with the ability to work from enterprise blueprint and target-state design through to practical solution review and delivery guardrails. TOGAF or equivalent EA experience is desirable.
- Has experience creating and maintaining current-state, target-state and transition architectures across complex transformation portfolios, supported by practical EA tooling, repositories or equivalent architecture-management disciplines.
- Understands how commercial enterprise platforms, including CRM, ERP, ITSM, data/MDM and other SaaS capabilities, fit together within an enterprise landscape, and can make pragmatic reuse, configure, buy or build recommendations. Experience of distribution or other fast-growth operating models is advantageous, not essential.
- Can influence and drive decisions across functions, regions, senior stakeholders and programme teams without formal authority. Communicates complex architecture topics concisely in business terms and is comfortable challenging constructively when local project decisions create enterprise risk or duplication.
- Is commercially and business oriented, able to work naturally with Process and Data leaders as well as technology teams.
This is a fantastic role working for a great global brand and will report directly into the CIO.
