Job summary

UL Solutions seeks a Project Engineer – Electronic Controls to join our safety science team in Poland. You will evaluate requirements, plan tests and coordinate certification activities with global teams, shaping risk-based decisions and project timelines.

You’ll define technical steps for sales offers, manage documentation, and mentor colleagues while engaging customers to deliver reliable, safe electrical controls solutions.

Qualifications

  • Electrical/ Electronics background required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • Proven project management skills with time management and Gantt charts.
  • Experience with Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) services is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of IEC Safety Standards (UL/IEC 61800-5-1, UL/IEC 61010-1/-2-201) desirable.
  • Willingness to travel roughly 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate project requirements and challenge steps for relevance, efficiency and accuracy.
  • Define technical steps to enable Sales to prepare accurate offers.
  • Create detailed project plans and provide concise management reports.
  • Oversee test planning and coordination across internal and external labs for certification activities.
  • Own project timelines and ensure deadlines through organization and prioritization.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation in line with certification standards.
  • Support management with audits, data reviews, training plans and mentoring new colleagues.
  • Engage with customers to build relationships and ensure excellent service delivery.

Join our team as our new Project Engineer – Electronic Controls to become a part of a highly innovative organization at the forefront of emerging technologies where your work has a real impact on product safety.   • Evaluation of requirements: you will be expected to critically assess and challenge project requests and steps to ensure relevance, efficiency, and accuracy throughout the entire process.

  • Supporting proposal development: you will define the required technical steps, enabling Sales to prepare accurate and competitive offers for customers.

  • Project planning and reporting: you will create detailed project plans and ensure regular, concise reporting to management, recognizing that structured planning is key to successful delivery.

  • Test planning and coordination: you will oversee the planning and coordination of testing activities across both internal and external laboratories, supporting the certification of Frequency Converters, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Process Controllers, in close collaboration with global teams to ensure timely and efficient execution.

  • Timeline management: you will take ownership of project timelines, continuously monitoring progress and ensuring deadlines are met through strong organization and prioritization.

  • Documentation management: you will prepare and maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date project documentation, ensuring compliance with certification standards.

  • Support to management and continuous improvement: you will assist in activities such as audits, data review, identifying improvement opportunities, developing training plans, and mentoring new colleagues.

  • Customer engagement and networking: you will actively build relationships with customers, strengthening collaboration and ensuring excellent service delivery.

Total Rewards:

We understand that rewards are an important consideration as you plan the next step in your career. The salary range for this position in Poland is 120,000 - 194,500 PLN, and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors. This position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 10% of base salary. You’ll also enjoy annual paid leave, access to our ULS University to support continuous learning and career growth, private medical health care, vacation allowance, lunch card, sports card, two volunteering days each year to participate in community activities, and flexible working arrangements designed to help you balance work and life.

  • Electrical, Electronics or related Engineering background.
  • Around 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Proven experience in project work, with good project management skills (e.g. time management, Gantt charts).

  • The right attitude is important: being open and cooperative with positive attitude and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) services would be a strong asset.
