Job summary

Lufthansa Technik, on behalf of Group Engine Management GmbH, is seeking an Engine Type Engineer to develop and implement maintenance strategies for one or more engine types, while minimizing shop visits and optimizing lifecycle management.

You will monitor shop visits, define maintenance scope, and track MRO KPIs, ensuring availability and on-time delivery of engines and cost-efficient maintenance. Fluent English is required; German is a plus, with SAP/AMOS experience valued.

Qualifications

Technical degree from a university or technical college.
3+ years of relevant professional experience.
Understanding of MRO industry preferred.
Very good English; German language is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement maintenance strategies for one or more engine types.
Minimize shop visits costs and manage life cycle planning.
Control and monitor shop visits performed by the MRO service provider.
Define maintenance scope, parts exchange approval and monitor MRO KPIs.
Manage engineering and optimize maintenance processes, materials, tools and systems.
Ensure availability and on-time delivery of engines; optimize costs.
Determine maintenance strategy and evaluate engine condition.
Plan retirement and optimize costs per EFC/EFH across the Lufthansa Group.
Determine required number of spare engines and coordinate phase-out planning with airlines.
