Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking an embedded Linux engineer to join the Common Linux team. You will maintain Yocto-based distributions across product lines and hardware platforms, contributing to kernel and user-space work.

You will collaborate with an international team, grow your skills in scripting (bash/python) and debugging, and help improve testing pipelines, documentation, and Linux architecture strategy.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded Linux development experience (user space and/or kernel space).
• Familiarity with Yocto Project or Buildroot; willingness to learn Yocto on the job.
• Scripting and programming in Bash and Python; able to work across languages.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for Linux systems.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and maintain embedded Linux across platforms; support kernel config and debugging.
• Develop user-space tooling and automation scripts (Bash, Python).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide Linux expertise across product lines.
• Help improve Linux processes, testing pipelines and technical documentation.
