Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a motivated Embedded Firmware Testing & Lab Intern to join the MBS-Linux team. This entry-level role targets students in final years or recent graduates, supporting validation, lab bring-up, and test automation for embedded devices and prototypes.

You'll leverage Python for scripts and tooling, work with Linux, and document results. Strong English and Polish, plus hands-on hardware experience, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Being a student in electronics, computer engineering, mechatronics, or a related field, or just graduated.
• Basic Python experience in scripts or small tools.
• Fundamentals of electronics and safety in a lab environment.
• Hands-on with microcontrollers or dev boards (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, ESP32).
• Comfortable with Linux command line and learning embedded Linux on the job.
• Very good English and fluent Polish; work in a multinational setting.
• Availability to work at least 3 days a week in the office; Git basics understood.
• Willing to write and run tests and ensure reproducible results; curious and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Support firmware and hardware validation on dev boards and lab setups.
• Write and maintain test scripts (mainly Python) for unit checks and simple integration tests.
• Help document lab procedures: cabling, configuration, data, and pass/fail criteria.
• Use Git for test code, configs, and documentation; follow team practices.
• Work on Linux (CLI): run scripts, manage logs, and learn embedded Linux tooling.
• Communicate findings in English via reports and tickets; participate in reviews.
• Optionally assist with CI-related test runs or local automation mirroring pipelines.
