Role overview

As a Technical Lead, your role is to act as an internal expert and leader in the EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) space. You will be providing innovative, scalable, and high-quality solutions to meet business needs from inception through design, implementation, and enhancement, across the EAI space. You will proactively and holistically lead and support both business-led and internal initiatives that guide the development and management of a portfolio of solutions in the EAI domain. You will also provide technical guidance to team members, both internal and external, through the life cycle of these solutions. The Technical Lead will contribute to overarching governance and processes, frameworks, platform, and strategy in the EAI space, as well as participate in leading through major transformation activities.

The EAI team is responsible for the application integrations that span across many core business functions, with a substantial amount of the domain being within commercial (ex. sales, technical services, etc.) but also extending into other functions such as manufacturing, services, business intelligence and analytics, etc. You will have a deep understanding of business goals, objectives and business outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes. The Technical Lead provides the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks supporting the development of technology solutions to ensure delivery of high quality, high impact capabilities to meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards. You will create deliverables for managing the organization’s portfolio of “to be” and “as is” solutions to enable and drive targeted business outcomes in the assigned domain.

What you’ll do

Lead Solutions Design & Analysis

• Lead evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation and refinement of key platforms, processes, and delivery models in the Enterprise Applications Integration domain.
• Work closely with DevOps COE, Infrastructure Cloud Engineers, and EAI team members to establish future-proof solutions, stabilization and tuning of existing platforms and capabilities, and ensure overall holistic platform design is well aligned with the overarching architectural framework of the organization.
• Create and deliver comprehensive solutions focused on detailed design principles, decision points and dependencies between business and IT.
• Manage and develop the portfolio of capabilities for a broader scope of projects or products, working closely with the business, cross-functional IT teams, and external partners for each project, product, or initiative.
• Analyze the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommend solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation, and innovation).

Orchestrate Solutions Delivery

• Design and direct the governance activities associated with ensuring delivery adheres to architectural framework, assurance, and compliance.
• Facilitate the evaluation and selection of appropriate platforms, capabilities, and delivery mechanisms, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.
• Monitor the current-state integration portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.

Facilitate and Collaborate to Deliver Business Outcomes

• Work closely with the project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised throughout the project or product lifecycle.
• Work closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
• Partner with application architects within agile teams to ensure the projector product is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.
• Consult with application and infrastructure development projects and products to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.
• Partner with developers, architects, designers, hardware engineers, project managers, and management teams.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, to ensure successful delivery of end-to-end integration solutions.
• Lead and mentor others in your domain.
• Root-cause partner issues and provide resolution to unblock development or improve experience.
• Design and document key solutions and, where needed, prepare high-quality presentations to key decision makers.
• Ensure overall alignment within your domain on delivery of advanced solutions, providing guidance and oversight to engineers and developers.
• Create actionable steps to achieve key roadmap deliverables.
• Design reusable and scalable platform strategies to support key capabilities and portfolios.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in technical fields such as computer science, MIS, engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience, with a focus on Cloud Engineering roles highly preferred.
• 12+ years of overall professional IT experience.
• 10+ years of proven experience in the design, coding and implementation of data and application integration solutions.
• 10+ years of experience with scripting and programming required, with specific focus on automating tasks using Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell.
• 7+ years of proven experience in CI/CD and automation, specific experience with Jenkins and AWS Code Pipeline preferred.
• Deep knowledge and experience with AWS Cloud Services required, including computing, storage, databases, containerization, serverless, and cloud-native solutions.
• IaC (Infrastructure as Code) experience with tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform preferred.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools required.
• Proven experience with Cloud Native and AI-driven solutions preferred.
• Experience with service-oriented architectures, ESB, web services, and integration principles and concepts required.
• Strong experience with holistic designs incorporating both cloud-based technologies and applications with a wide variety of application platforms, protocols, and services/interfaces.
• Strong understanding of relevant security and networking protocols.
• Demonstrated capability to quickly adapt to and leverage new technologies, platforms, and methodologies.
• Foundational understanding of the key principles of architecture designs.
• Experience in a customer-facing role such as technical support, consulting or solutions architecture.
• Familiarity with information models and industry data standards such as automation and agile architecture.
• Strong communication skills.
• Negotiation skills, long term, and strategic thinking without losing the actual needs, teamwork and fast integration into bigger teams.
• Understanding of regulated Healthcare industry, FDA design controls requirements is an advantage.
