Job summary

Nordic Semiconductor is seeking a senior leader to head the Engineering of Development Tools, spanning software and hardware toolchains. You will drive the tools roadmap, ensure high-quality releases, and scale an engineering organization across Kraków and Norway.

You will collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams, set technical direction, and advance AI-assisted development and MCP integrations while maintaining strong delivery discipline and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics or related discipline.
Several years of software or embedded engineering experience with leadership roles including managing managers.
Proven experience leading multi-site engineering organizations across countries.
Experience delivering developer tools, IDEs, SDKs or developer platforms used by external customers.
Strong software architecture knowledge for desktop, mobile, web and command-line apps.
Modern engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps, release management and secure development.
Working knowledge of embedded development workflows: toolchains, build systems, debuggers, programmers and IDEs (e.g., VS Code).
Understanding of AI-assisted development tools, LLM integrations and MCP.
Understanding of hardware product development including PCB design, manufacturing and test.

Responsibilities

Lead the Development Tools engineering organization across software and hardware tools.
Own engineering delivery of the tools roadmap with Product Managers to convert priorities into plans.
Set technical direction and architecture for Nordic's tools portfolio across platforms.
Drive AI adoption in tools portfolio and within the engineering practice.
Build and integrate the Kraków site with existing teams in Norway for a unified cross-site organization.
Coordinate with business units, SDK and firmware teams to support new products at launch.
Define and report engineering KPIs such as release predictability and developer satisfaction.
