Job summary

Siemens Energy invites a skilled Dimensional Inspector to independently conduct manual dimensional inspections at supplier sites for generator and turbine components. You will ensure inspections meet specifications and document discrepancies with cross-departmental teams.

You will lead supplier qualification, drive quality improvements, review technical drawings, and travel nationally and internationally to support global operations.

• A technical background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or metalworking, complemented by experience in quality assurance and measurement techniques.

Join our dynamic purchasing organization as a Dimensional Inspector, where you will independently conduct manual dimensional inspections at supplier sites for components utilized in generators as well as gas and steam turbines. You will ensure that all inspections adhere to specifications while meticulously reviewing the technical and formal aspects of documentation. Should any discrepancies arise, you will document and communicate these issues clearly, collaborating with a cross-departmental team to determine necessary corrective actions. Engage with a global team and connect with colleagues across various regions, making a significant impact in our operations.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Take charge of preparing, executing, and following up on dimensional inspections for both raw and finished cast components.
• Lead supplier qualification and development initiatives, actively contributing to the enhancement of supplier quality and the quality of purchased parts.
• Implement preventive measures at suppliers to proactively address and mitigate potential quality issues.
• Collaborate effectively with a global team and internal stakeholders to drive quality improvements.
• Conduct internal reviews of technical drawings to ensure compliance and accuracy.

What You Bring

• A technical background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or metalworking, complemented by experience in quality assurance and measurement techniques.
• Several years of relevant professional experience in dimensional inspection and proven experience in quality assurance processes.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP, along with a consistent and confident demeanor.
• Willingness to travel both nationally, internationally, and intercontinentally, with fluency in English.
• Familiarity with quality methodologies such as 5 Whys, FMEA, 8D, and RCA is advantageous.

Our Gas Services team offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
