Siemens Energy seeks a Contract Manager to provide contractual support for national and international sales of large power generation equipment. You will analyze contracts, identify risks, draft and negotiate agreements, and advise project management teams on complex contractual matters.

The role requires long-term experience in contract and claim management for international projects, deep contract law knowledge, and strong English communication; German is an asset.

Qualifications

In your role as a member of this team, you will actively support the manifold activities coming along with the project business of Siemens Energy’s Business Area “Gas Services”. The world is currently facing a transition of the energy market that is characterized by an increasing energy demand, and you will take responsibility for a broad variety of complex contractual matters in this exciting environment.

Your task as Contract Manager is the contractual support in execution activities of multiple projects in the field of the national and international sale of large power generation equipment (large gas turbines, steam turbines and generators), by means of analyzing contracts, identifying contractual risks, drafting and negotiating agreements, and advising and supporting the different project maagement teams to tackle the challenges arising in large project business.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Provide advice and support to different project management teams during the execution of multipe sales contracts to protect Siemens Energy’s rights and entitlements.
• Support project management in contractual and commercial matters, e.g. by assessing legal risks arising during project execution, or by supporting the preparation of or defense against claims, change order processes and relevant correspondence.
• Identify all relevant contractual aspects needed for successful execution of the various projects.
• Support settlement negotiations with the contract partners.
• Take initiative and contribute proactively to master business challenges by thinking entrepreneurial and by balancing governance and business needs.
• Foster an organizational culture of ownership, empowerment, transparency and “speak up”. Collaborate closely within the global Legal and Compliance community.

What You Bring

• An academic background in law, business law, or a related legal discipline is preferred.
• Long-term experience in contract and claim management in international complex projects as well as experience in contract analyzing, drafting and/or legal experience.
• Deep knowledge of contract law and international contract practice.
• Deep business understanding, passion to enable business transactions and to drive change.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills coupled with intercultural sensitivity and competence.
• High motivation to work in a team in an international environment. Excellent language skills in verbal and written English. German language would be considered an asset.
