Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. is seeking a Dimensional Inspector to independently perform manual dimensional inspections at supplier sites for generator, gas, and steam turbine components.

You will ensure inspections meet specifications, review documentation, and document discrepancies with cross‑departmental teams. You will lead supplier qualification initiatives, implement preventive measures at suppliers, and collaborate with global teams to improve quality across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Technical background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or metalworking.
• Several years of relevant experience in dimensional inspection and QA processes.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, execute, and follow up on dimensional inspections for raw and finished cast components.
• Lead supplier qualification and development to enhance supplier quality and purchased parts quality.
• Implement preventive measures at suppliers to address potential quality issues.
• Collaborate with global teams and internal stakeholders to drive quality improvements.
• Review technical drawings to ensure compliance and accuracy.

A Snapshot of Your Day

Join our dynamic purchasing organization as a Dimensional Inspector, where you will independently conduct manual dimensional inspections at supplier sites for components utilized in generators as well as gas and steam turbines. You will ensure that all inspections adhere to specifications while meticulously reviewing the technical and formal aspects of documentation. Should any discrepancies arise, you will document and communicate these issues clearly, collaborating with a cross‑departmental team to determine necessary corrective actions. Engage with a global team and connect with colleagues across various regions, making a significant impact in our operations.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Take charge of preparing, executing, and following up on dimensional inspections for both raw and finished cast components.
• Lead supplier qualification and development initiatives, actively contributing to the enhancement of supplier quality and the quality of purchased parts.
• Implement preventive measures at suppliers to proactively address and mitigate potential quality issues.
• Collaborate effectively with a global team and internal stakeholders to drive quality improvements.
• Conduct internal reviews of technical drawings to ensure compliance and accuracy.

What You Bring

• A technical background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or metalworking, complemented by experience in quality assurance and measurement techniques.
• Several years of relevant professional experience in dimensional inspection and proven experience in quality assurance processes.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP, along with a consistent and confident demeanor.
• Willingness to travel both nationally, internationally, and intercontinentally, with fluency in English.
• Familiarity with quality methodologies such as 5 Whys, FMEA, 8D, and RCA is advantageous.
