Job summary

EY GDS Poland is seeking a senior Digital Competency Leader to shape and execute the digital strategy across Wrocław and Katowice. You will build and lead a high‑performing team, drive competency programs, and coordinate with Sales, Delivery, and Solutioning to meet client demand.

The role requires 13+ years in IT consulting with deep digital and cloud experience, strong leadership, and a track record of mentoring teams and delivering strategic programs.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience driving digital transformation and competency development.
• Proven leadership of large technical or consulting teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience in a consulting environment is preferred.
• Degree in IT, business, or a related field.
• Certifications in cloud platforms or project management are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Digital Competency development strategy across the organization.
• Build, lead, and manage a high-performing team focused on digital technologies and solutions.
• Identify skill gaps, design training programs, and oversee certification initiatives.
• Work closely with Sales, Delivery, and Solutioning teams to align capabilities with client demand and strategic goals.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with technology providers to leverage programs and co-sell opportunities.
• Create roadmaps for capability building around cloud, data analytics, AI, business applications, and emerging technologies.
• Monitor and report on progress toward competency targets, certifications, and business impact.
• Support the design and launch of new digital-based services and solutions.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence.
• Act as an internal advocate and subject matter expert for digital technologies.
• Manage team performance, career development, and engagement through feedback, coaching, and mentoring.

The opportunity

The Digital is a fast-growing field of play within EY GDS that is currently looking for experts who have deep expertise and broad experience to build a bridge between business and technology with knowledge and Client’s interest.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Digital Competency development strategy across the organization.
• Build, lead, and manage a high-performing team focused on digital technologies and solutions.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Minimum 13+ years of experience in the IT consulting industry, with a strong focus on digital transformation and technologies.
• Deep understanding of digital platforms, cloud ecosystems, data analytics, AI, and business solutions.
• Proven experience in competency development, technical enablement, or practice management.
• Strong leadership skills with at least 10+ years of experience managing technical or consulting teams.
• Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong technical experience, ideally in software development and/or architecture areas
• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, digital solutions, or project management are highly desirable.
• Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment.
• Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and influence at all organizational levels.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Commitment to support the development of others through taking on coaching and counselling roles for team members
• Ability to think strategically, but also identify, develop and implement practical solutions
• Ability to network effectively within large organizations and build relationships with colleagues and clients
• Ability to lead new business development by highlighting potential opportunities for new engagements and responding to tenders
