Job summary

ZS Associates in Poland is seeking a senior DevOps Engineer to own our cloud infrastructure from the ground up. You will architect, provision and automate environments, partnering with Data Scientists, ML Engineers and developers to scale AI-based analytics platforms.

You will design CI/CD pipelines, manage repositories, and lead migrations between GitHub and GitLab, embedding security and compliance while championing infrastructure as code and containerization across the stack.

Qualifications

• Hands-on DevOps engineer who has built infrastructure from scratch.
• Strong Python for automation and scripting across the lifecycle.
• Deep IaC experience with Terraform or equivalent.
• Hands-on cloud exp across AWS/Azure/GCP with architecture decisions.
• Git/GitHub/GitLab expertise; migrations among platforms.
• Proven CI/CD pipelines experience for container deployments.
• Fluency in English and strong collaboration skills.

Role Description

What you’ll do:

As a DevOps Engineer within ZS's Business Technology team in Poland, you will be the senior technical owner of our cloud infrastructure – not a consumer of DevOps tooling, but the expert who designs, builds and sets it up from the ground up. This is a foundational, first-of-its-kind hire for our growing Poland engineering community, and you will bring the deep, hands-on expertise needed to establish infrastructure, automation and engineering best practice for next-generation, AI-based analytics products. You will architect and provision cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code, standing up environments from scratch rather than maintaining what already exists. You will design and build CI/CD pipelines, set up and manage source-control repositories, define branching and release-management strategies, and lead migrations (for example, GitHub to GitLab) as the estate evolves. Working closely with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Full-Stack Developers and lead architects, you will automate deployment, embed security and compliance into every environment, and use strong Python and scripting skills to remove manual effort across the engineering lifecycle. As a senior, team-lead-calibre engineer, you will set the technical standard for how ZS builds and scales its platforms in Poland.

What you’ll bring:

• Demonstrable, hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer who has built and set up infrastructure from scratch – with clear evidence of designing, developing and building (not simply consuming or using) DevOps tooling and environments (or related experience).
• Strong Python skills for automation, scripting and tooling across the engineering lifecycle.
• Deep expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) – e.g. Terraform - to automate and provision cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP, including cloud design and architecture decisions.
• Strong source-control expertise with Git, GitHub and GitLab – setting up repositories, establishing branching strategy and release-management processes, and leading migrations between platforms.
• Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate containerised deployments to cloud and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of containerisation and orchestration – Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes are desirable but not essential.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or comparable practical experience.
• Exposure to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or medical technology is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English.
