Sopra Steria in Katowice, Poland, is seeking a DevOps Engineer (AWS) to join a cross-functional squad. You will develop and optimize cloud development tools and environments, write automated tests, and ensure secure, scalable deployments across the team.

The role requires strong AWS hands-on experience, IaC with Terraform/CDK, and ITIL-like service management. Fluency in English and willingness to travel to the Katowice office are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in AWS.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CDK.
• Good knowledge of IT security principles.
• Advanced software development with Git, Python, TypeScript.
• Experience with AI development including agentic approaches and delivering AI solutions at scale.
• AI tools for Devs (Amazon Q, Kiro, Claude) and coding assistants.
• Practical experience with IDEs (VS Code, IntelliJ).
• Service management experience (ITIL or similar).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• EU citizenship.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Katowice office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code.
• Show code ownership through team code reviews, SonarQube quality checks and Cosmos best practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing services by identifying optimization opportunities.
• Write unit tests and integration tests to increase confidence in development and deployment.
• Utilize GitLab, CI/CD, and scripting to automate deployment and code analysis.
• Suggest and implement automation to streamline deployment, configuration, and monitoring tasks.
• Work closely with architects, admins, and other developers for seamless integration.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and knowledge-sharing within the squad.
• Document code, scripts, and configurations for maintainability.
• Contribute to squad technical documentation.

Job Description

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (AWS) to join Sopra Steria Polska and one of our innovative international squads. You will play a pivotal role in the development and optimization our Cloud Development tools & Development environment offer. This team is responsible for implementing, maintaining and supporting the Developer' tools and development environment used by the organization.

Note that we can only offer cooperation to people who are located in Poland and have EU citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code.
• You show code ownership through team code reviews, SonarQube quality checks and implementation of Cosmos best practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing services by identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Write unit tests and integration tests where necessary to increase the confidence during development and deployment of the code.
• Utilize Gitlab, CI/CD, and scripting skills to automate the deployment and analysis of code.
• Suggest and implement automation to streamline deployment, configuration, and monitoring tasks.
• Work closely with cross-functional team members, including architects, system administrators, and other developers, to ensure seamless integration and interoperability.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, to foster effective collaboration within the squad.
• Engage in knowledge-sharing activities and contribute to the collective expertise of the team.
• Document code, scripts, and configurations thoroughly to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer within the squad.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for the squad.

Must have requirements

• Must have a strong hands-on experience in AWS;
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK) and GitLab pipelines;
• Good knowledge of IT security principles;
• Advance experience in software development (Git, Python, TypeScript)
• Experience with AI development including agentic, experience with delivering AI solutions to customers at scale;

Salary range

UOP: 12 000-16 000 PLN gross/month.

B2B: 100-140 PLN net/h
