Job summary

Brightstar Lottery seeks an automation-focused engineer to design and deliver CI/CD improvements across services, with emphasis on reliability and scalable deployments.

You will build and run automation pipelines, enhance monitoring and incident response, and work with developers to optimize release processes. The role includes security hardening and IaC work in a hybrid, multi-timezone setup.

Qualifications

Overview

• Independently design and deliver automation and CI/CD improvements across services.
• We encourage the thoughtful use of Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to boost innovation and productivity while adhering to our security and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage automation pipelines (build, test, deploy)
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
• Work with developers to optimize build and release processes
• Contribute to security hardening and secrets management

Typical Tooling Stack:

• Languages & Scripting: Bash, Python
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions,

Qualifications

• Proficiency in system administration and scripting (Bash, Python)
• Strong skills in CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance

• Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, etc.)
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK)
• Working knowledge of networking (DNS, load balancing, VPNs, firewalls)
• Can independently manage small-to-medium scale deployments
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Soft Skills

• Clear, concise communication in English within distributed teams (B2/C1 level)
• Growth mindset with a bias for automation, measurement, and continuous improvement
• Pragmatic problem-solving and customer‑centric thinking
• Experience collaborating in Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban)

Success Profile

• I - II: moves from guided tasks to independently delivering small features and automations
• II - III: leads domain areas, scales systems, and raises engineering bar across teams
• III - IV: sets strategy, influences architecture company-wide, and grows talent pipelines

Your Impact (30/60/90 Days):

• 60 days: deliver reliability improvements (alerting, dashboards) for a service
• 90 days: lead a small migration (e.g., Terraform module refactor)

This information reflects Brightstar Lottery’s good‑faith estimate of compensation for this position at the time of publication. Actual compensation will be determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and internal compensation policies. Factors that we consider include, but are not limited to, role, career level, performance, skills, level of expertise, experience, location, market competitiveness, and internal equity. The estimated starting compensation range is 124,995 zł - 192,300 zł. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

This position is governed by collective bargaining agreement, which regulates the main terms and conditions of employment, including minimum salary levels, classification, working hours, leave, and other employment rights.
