Job summary

Signify, formerly Philips Lighting, invites applications for a Development Engineer Mechanics Intern in Ketrzyn to join our R&D team. You will participate in exciting projects with colleagues across the R&D organization.

Ideal candidates are fresh mechanical engineering graduates or students, available 20–25 hours per week (40h preferred), with good English, strong organization and problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn our production processes and product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Assist across all stages of new product development, from requirements to prototyping and testing.
  • Create 3D designs and 2D technical documentation in CAD (SolidEdge) and build prototypes.
  • Learn product portfolio and production processes through rotations.

More about the role

We’re looking for a Development Engineer Mechanics Intern to join our R&D team in Ketrzyn. We’re on the lookout for forward-thinking innovators with a passion for sustainability.

As a Development Engineer Mechanics Intern you will work on exciting projects with many colleagues from the R&D team.

What you’ll do
  • Support your team at all stages of a new product development project, starting with requirements assessment, design proposals, technical product documentation, prototyping and testing.
  • Support to create designs (3D) and technical documentation (2D) in CAD environment (SolidEdge), building prototypes and samples for testing
  • Learn our organization and product portfolio and product architecture
  • Acquire the knowledge and get trained in our production process, laboratory activities, project structure, and industrialization of our products in different rotations.
  • Learn and use tools and methodologies used in the development process
Your qualifications
  • You are a fresh graduate or you have ongoing university studies in the mechanical engineering field
  • Availability to work at least 20-25 hours a week (preferably 40h)
  • Organizational skills, which grant you the ability to prioritize your tasks effectively
  • Good problem-solving skills with great attention to details
  • Good command of English language
