Overview:

SOFTSWISS is hiring a Deputy Head of the PSP Financial Control Department to join our Finance team.

We are looking for a strong people leader with deep expertise in payments and financial control to oversee daily operations, drive process excellence, and support strategic initiatives within the department.

Purpose of the role:

As the Deputy Head of the PSP Financial Control Department, you will play a key leadership role in managing the department’s day-to-day operations while supporting the Head of Department in driving strategic initiatives.

This role requires a strong people manager with deep domain expertise in payments and financial control. You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, high team performance, continuous process optimization, and the delivery of accurate, high-quality financial and analytical outputs across the department.

This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who combines outstanding managerial skills with a deep understanding of payment systems, reconciliation, settlements, and financial operations.

Key responsibilities:
Operational & Team Leadership
  • Act as the primary operational leader of the department, ensuring smooth execution of daily activities
  • Directly manage and develop team leads and key specialists within Reconciliation & Settlements and Reporting & Analysis functions
  • Set clear priorities, performance goals, and KPIs; ensure accountability and consistent delivery
  • Build and maintain a strong team culture focused on ownership, performance, and continuous improvement
  • Support the Head of Department in strategic initiatives and operational execution
  • Oversee payment reconciliation and settlement processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Supervise liquidity management across multiple accounts, ensuring sufficient balances for business operations
  • Review cost structures, profitability metrics, and pricing models in collaboration with finance stakeholders
  • Participate in the review and validation of financial contracts and PSP agreements
Data, Reporting & Process Excellence
  • Ensure high-quality dashboards and reporting in Tableau and related analytical tools
  • Drive automation initiatives and process optimization across financial control workflows
  • Oversee data integrity across accounting systems, reconciliation tools, and internal reporting platforms
  • Lead resolution of data discrepancies through close collaboration with internal teams and external partners
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and operational improvement projects
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports and operational insights to senior management
Required Experience:
  • Exceptional people management skills with proven experience leading teams in high-performance financial, payment, or operational environments
  • Strong domain expertise in PSP operations, reconciliation, settlements, liquidity management, and financial control
  • Fluent English (B2 or higher) and Russian (B2 or higher)
  • Technical and analytical skills, including experience with Tableau, financial reporting systems, MS Excel, accounting software (e.g. 1C), and reconciliation tools
  • Demonstrated ability to drive automation, workflow optimization, and operational efficiency
  • Hands‑on experience in risk, fraud prevention, chargebacks, and compliance controls
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with senior leadership
Nice to have:
  • Experience in iGaming, fintech, or payment services industries
  • Understanding of backend casino operations and related financial flows
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field
