Job summary

BEC Financial Technologies in Warsaw seeks a Subject Matter Expert to partner with development teams, QA, and external vendors to embed best practices in data and environment management within the central QA Team. You will own data masking, subsetting, and environments provisioning, ensuring data consistency across test systems.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with DB2 for z/OS, mainframe tools, and DevOps automation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with data masking and data subsetting.

• Operational governance of data processes and data quality.

Job description

You will act as a subject-matter expert working closely with development teams, architects, and external vendor to embed best practices in data and environment management. The role will be placed in central Quality Assurance Team.

Quality Assurance Team (QA Team) is a central team in Platform & Developer Experience Domain, responsible for delivering key enablers related with test data operations (masking, subsetting, loads) environment management (inventory, provisioning etc.), test tools including test automation enablers and QA processes. Cross functional team, consisting of mainly senior profiles, experienced in BEC reality. We lead challenging and important initiative in order to put fundaments under quality-oriented solutions for our Banks. We work closely with almost 100 development teams; our internal customers are all Developers, QAs and BAs in BEC.

Primary tasks and responsibilities:

• Data operations management; data masking and subsetting
• Oversee database maintenance activities (backup, recovery).
• Manage data refreshes, data migrations, and test environments provisioning.
• Ensure operational readiness and data consistency across test environments.
• Implementation, maintenance and improvement of test data subsetting initiative with all related activities like gathering data requirements, defining data linkage, checking data consistency, data loads
• Implementation, maintenance and improvement of data masking process, operational governance of process completeness, developing supportive tools and solutions
• Work on enhancing tools for data refresh process
• Performance & reliability
• Monitor and optimize database performance.
• Analyze SQL performance issues and bottlenecks.
• Drive continuous improvements in availability, resilience, and operational efficiency.
• Incident, problem & change management
• Lead resolution of production incidents and major outages related to data.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures

To succeed you will have:

• The ability to work effectively in an international and cross-functional environment
• Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken
• Hands-on experience within one or more of the following technology areas:

DB2 for z/OS

• Database architecture, performance tuning, partitioning, indexing, SQL optimization
• Tools: DB2 Catalog, EXPLAIN, RUNSTATS, REORG

Mainframe Platform (z/OS)

• Strong operational knowledge of the mainframe ecosystem
• Well versed in the batch execution and bug fixing
• Practical skills in JCL, SQL, COBOL (nice to have)
• Tools: z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2, RACF

Backup, recovery & high availability

• Business continuity, disaster recovery, replication
• Tools: DB2 Utilities (COPY, RECOVER, REBUILD INDEX), Q Replication, GDPS

Monitoring & Operations

• Support, performance monitoring, incident troubleshooting for non production environments
• Tools: OMEGAMON, ServiceNow

Automation & DevOps

• Database change management and operational automation
• Tools: REXX, Git, Ansible for z/OS
