Job summary

Volkswagen Financial Services (Poland) is hiring a Data Scientist to join a 40-person AI Engineering team in Warsaw. You will develop and deploy models for regression, classification, and clustering, and design end-to-end AI solutions using Python and cloud platforms.

You will work in an Agile/DevOps environment, perform feature engineering, ensure data quality, and apply advanced techniques like SHAP and Monte Carlo simulations. Hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
• Strong Python skills with pandas, numpy and scikit-learn.
• Solid understanding of ML/AI methods (LLMs, GenAI, neural nets, regression, clustering).
• Basic knowledge of SQL and data modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Docker, Git, CI/CD a plus; GDPR, IT security and AI ethics understood.
• Excellent communication, team spirit, and proactive attitude.
• Fluent English and very good Polish language skills.
• Experience in Agile/DevOps environments.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy models for regression, classification, and clustering
• Design end-to-end solutions, including deep learning and reinforcement learning
• Perform feature engineering and optimize model performance
• Analyze and prepare data, ensuring high data quality
• Apply advanced techniques (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations, SHAP) for model insights
• Build scalable solutions in Python
• Automate workflows in Linux environments (shell scripting, Git)
• Design software using functional and object-oriented approaches
• Work with SQL/NoSQL databases and optimize queries

Our Requirements:

• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
• 1–2 years of experience as a Data Scientist
• Strong Python skills and experience with libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn)
