Capgemini Invent is seeking a Senior Data Governance Strategist to design and implement modern data governance frameworks enabling trusted, compliant, and business-driven decision making. You will work at the intersection of business, data, and technology, guiding clients in scalable governance for data, analytics, and AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data governance or data management, including leading engagements or teams.
• Deep knowledge of data governance principles and DAMA-DMBOK methodologies; CDMP or equivalent is a plus.
• Hands-on with glossaries, taxonomies and ontologies; knowledge of semantic tech and metadata tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead data governance strategy engagements: maturity assessments, target operating model, policies, roadmap and business case.
• Design governance frameworks aligned with DAMA-DMBOK; adapt to data mesh and federated models.
• Own the semantic foundation: business glossary, concept model, taxonomies; define knowledge graph and metadata standards.
• Stay hands-on: write standards, model concepts, review quality rules and catalog content as needed.
• Make governance operational with data owners and stewards: decision rights, forums, issue management, metrics and reporting.
• Work with data engineers to implement standards in catalogs, semantic layers and data platforms.
• Define and implement data sovereignty controls: residency rules, access outside EU, retention and GDPR compliance.
• Support AI/analytics with governed definitions and data access.
• Lead and develop consultants, manage engagements and client relationships.
