Job summary

Aviva Services Excellence Centre in Warsaw is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable Snowflake data pipelines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver robust, secure solutions.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of relevant experience and strong Snowflake scripting knowledge, ETL/ELT practices, and familiarity with Azure/AWS. The role offers hybrid work from Poland and a path for upskilling.

Qualifications

• Approx. 2-3 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Experience in Snowflake scripting – stored procedures (PLSQL or python) and UDFs.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT and Snowflake architecture.
• Knowledge of file formats (Parquet, JSON, YAML).
• Understanding Snowflake concepts: data sharing, masking policies, roles, tasks, time travel.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and modern data stack tools.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Implementing best practices for data modelling, performance tuning, and cost-efficient architecture in Snowflake.
• Conducting code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable data engineering solutions.
• Ensuring data quality, reliability, and security across all stages of the data lifecycle.
• Automating data workflows and integrating diverse data sources into Snowflake.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipeline issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
