Tylko, founded in Warsaw, Poland, is seeking a Data Engineer to shape our data architecture and enable data-driven decision making across the company. You will build robust data models, pipelines, and insights by collaborating with business stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have strong SQL, data modelling, and Python skills, plus experience with Airflow and GCP. This role is based in Warsaw with 3 days per week in the office and a modern AI-enabled tech stack.

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer with very strong SQL skills. In this role, you will help build the infrastructure needed to manage large volumes of data and support our data-driven culture. You will translate business needs into well-structured data models, ensuring our data is organised in a way that enables informed, data-driven decision-making across the company.

Your technical skills are as important as your communication skills. You will work closely with business stakeholders on a daily basis to understand their requirements and translate them into clear, effective data models and solutions.

What You’ll Do

You’ll take ownership, make things happen, and see your impact. Specifically, you will:

• Build and implement optimised data models that support business requirements and ensure data integrity
• Integrate data from various databases, APIs, streaming platforms, and files
• Monitor the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of our data pipelines and storage systems
• Troubleshoot data issues, resolve data quality problems, and actively reduce technical debt
• Partner closely with business stakeholders to translate their needs into actionable data solutions

What we’re looking for:

• Very strong SQL skills, allowing you to write and optimise complex queries
• Experience in data modelling
• Comfortable writing clean, functional Python code for Airflow orchestration and data processing
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
• Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders - understanding the current situation and desired outcomes, then proposing an appropriate solution
• Strong motivation to further develop your skills in an area that interests you (e.g. ETL, data governance)
• Fluent Polish and good command of English
• Working from our Warsaw office 3 days a week
