Job summary

Networking People (UK) is seeking a Datacentre Project Manager for a 6-month contract based in Amsterdam (Hybrid - 1-2 days in office). The role involves overseeing data centre builds, expansions, and migrations, coordinating IT readiness with physical infrastructure, and ensuring scalability and performance. Travel within the EU may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience managing IT infrastructure and data center construction projects.
• Ability to develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and communication plans.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with construction schedules, commissioning, and critical path analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end IT infrastructure and data center construction projects (with PMO alignment).
• Develop detailed plans, schedules and budgets; track risks and issues.
• Establish governance, milestones, KPIs, and reporting structures.
• Ensure adherence to standards and documentation requirements.

Contract: Datacentre Project Manager
Start Date: ASAP
Duration 6 months
Location: Amsterdam (Hybrid - 1-2 days per week in office for meetings). Possible some EU Travel when required during deployments
Rate: €400 a day B2B assignment. Travel expensed

• Data center new builds, expansions, and retrofits
• Power, cooling, racks, cabling, and structured cabling systems
• DR, BCP, and data center migration initiatives
• Coordinate IT system readiness with physical infrastructure availability.
• Ensure designs meet scalability, resiliency, availability, and performance requirements.

Project Planning & Governance

• Assist in leading end-to-end project management for IT infrastructure and data center construction projects.
• Assist in developing detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and communication plans.
• Establish project governance, milestones, KPIs, and reporting structures.
• Ensure adherence to PMO standards, change management processes, and documentation requirements.

Data Center & IT Infrastructure Delivery

• Data centre new builds, expansions, and retrofits
• Power, cooling, racks, cabling, and structured cabling systems
• DR, BCP, and data centre migration initiatives
• Coordinate IT system readiness with physical infrastructure availability.
• Ensure designs meet scalability, resiliency, availability, and performance requirements.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication and executive presentation abilities
• Risk management and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with construction schedules, commissioning, and critical path analysis
• They will submit BOM's / Quotes on HW but not manage Budget or PO's.
