Job summary

Capco Poland is seeking a Data Business Analyst to support a large-scale banking data initiative. You will bridge business requirements with data analysis and technical delivery, translating needs into data solutions.

Role involves end-to-end analytical scope: gathering requirements, identifying data sources, validating data, and collaborating with Data Engineers on implementation across HDP/Hadoop and Google Cloud Platform. A hands-on, cross-functional mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering data solutions within banking or financial services.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and complex data analysis.
• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
• Experience analysing data in Hadoop/HDP environments, ideally Hive and Spark SQL.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical data requirements.
• Good understanding of data mappings, transformation logic and data flows.
• Experience preparing detailed specifications for Data Engineering teams.
• Strong analytical skills, especially in Data Quality and Data Completeness.
• Ability to investigate data issues, identify root causes and define solutions.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders including Data Engineers and asset owners.
• Familiarity with GitHub and scripting to support data analysis and validation.

Responsibilities

• Gathering and refining business and data requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Acting as a link between business stakeholders, data teams, architects and Data Engineers.
• Identify data sources across HDP/Hadoop environments and determine delivery to analytics layer in Google Cloud Platform.
• Analyse and validate data using SQL, BigQuery, Hive and Spark SQL.
• Prepare and maintain asset designs, data mappings and detailed solution logic.
• Create implementation-ready requirements and tickets for Data Engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers during implementation to clarify requirements and validate delivery.
• Verify data accuracy, completeness, consistency and alignment with requirements.
• Identify Data Quality and Data Completeness issues and coordinate resolution.
• Deliver data governance activities, including mapping, standards validation and access requirements.
• Prepare data access requests for relevant users and groups.
• Analyse ongoing issues and perform root cause analysis; define required changes.
• Support enhancements to data pipelines including processing logic, schedules and sources.
• Create/modify scripts in GitHub to support analysis and validation.
