Job summary

Promise Group is seeking a Data Architect / Team Lead to shape modern Data & AI solutions and to lead the Data Engineering team. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and work with customers, Solution Sales, and project teams from presales to delivery and support.

You will design Lakehouse/Data Warehouse platforms, govern data systems, and ensure scalable, secure architectures aligned with client needs across hybrid/on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Data & Analytics architecture.
• Deep knowledge of Lakehouse and Data Warehouse design.
• Advanced SQL and ETL/ELT proficiency.
• Python or PySpark capable for reviewing engineering solutions.
• Power BI experience and data integration from multiple sources.
• Understanding of dimensional modelling (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and governance.
• Azure DevOps CI/CD, workspace governance, and data access practices.
• Ability to lead technical workshops and work with customers.
• Experience mentoring and leading technical teams.
• Excellent Polish and English communication.
• Experience with Fabric Data Agent, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, or RAG.
• Knowledge of Purview, Data Governance, and regulatory requirements.

We are looking for a Data Architect / Team Lead who will play a crucial role in our Data & AI Team . This role ideally combines strong technical expertise with a genuine leadership mindset . You will be responsible not only for designing modern Data & AI solutions, but also for leading and developing our Data Engineering team , helping engineers grow their skills and careers, and setting the technical direction for our projects. You will work closely with customers , Solution Sales, Project Managers , and our delivery teams - from the early presales stage through architecture , implementation , handover , and ongoing support .

Key Responsibilities:

• Design modern Data architectures based on Microsoft Fabric , Azure , and hybrid /on- premises environments .
• Design Lakehouse and Data Warehouse platforms , data integration solutions , semantic models , security , governance , and CI/CD processes .
• Lead technical discovery , architectural workshops , and current-state assessments with customers .
• Prepare HLDs , technical designs , roadmaps , Statements of Work ( SoW ), estimates , and technology recommendations .
• Make architectural decisions and ensure that solutions are scalable , secure , maintainable , and aligned with business needs .

Lead and develop the Data Engineering team

• Lead a team of Data Engineers (5 people ) , providing technical direction , support , and day -to- day leadership .
• Run regular 1:1 meetings , provide feedback, set expectations , and support employees in achieving their goals .
• Coach engineers and actively support their professional and technical development .
• Identify development opportunities , skill gaps , and future competency needs within the team.
• Support recruitment , onboarding , and building a strong Data Engineering team.
• Promote knowledge sharing , collaboration , and a culture of continuous learning.
• Define and develop engineering standards , best practices , and ways of working .

Work closely with customers and the business

• Act as a trusted technical partner for our customers , translating business challenges into effective technology solutions .
• Work closely with Solution Sales, Project Managers , and delivery teams from presales through project delivery .
• Support presales activities , including technical discovery , solution design, estimation , presentations , and customer workshops .
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations , webinars , workshops , and training sessions .
• Clearly communicate assumptions , scope boundaries , technical risks , and recommendations to both technical and non- technical stakeholders .
• Build long -term relationships with customers and help identify opportunities to further develop our Data & AI services.
• Provide technical oversight throughout projects , including design reviews , code reviews , quality assurance , troubleshooting , and risk management .
• Challenge solutions when needed and be willing to make a “stop” decision when a proposed approach does not meet the required quality or business criteria .
• Support engineers in solving complex technical problems .
• Ensure knowledge and best practices are shared across the team and projects .
• Stay up to date with the Microsoft Data & AI ecosystem and emerging technologies .

Our Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Data & Analytics architecture .
• Strong knowledge of Lakehouse and Data Warehouse architecture and design .
• Advanced SQL skills and practical experience with ETL/ELT .
• Python or PySpark skills sufficient to understand , review , and troubleshoot engineering solutions .
• Experience with Power Bi.
• Experience integrating data from various databases , files , and APIs .
• Good understanding of dimensional modelling, Bronze/Silver/Gold architecture, ingestion patterns.
• Knowledge of Azure access best practises , W orkspace governance, and CI/CD with Azure DevOps .
• Define performance engineering strategies covering data ingestion, transformation, storage, SQL queries, Spark workloads, semantic models, and reporting.
• Experience leading technical workshops and working directly with customers .
• Experience in leading , mentoring, or managing technical people - you enjoy developing others , not only solving technical problems yourself .
• Ability to prepare estimates , define assumptions and scope boundaries , and communicate technical risks clearly .
• Ability to simplify complex problems without losing important dependencies .
• Excellent communication skills in Polish and English .

• Experience with Fabric Data Agent, Azure AI Foundry , Azure AI Search , or RAG solutions .
• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview , D ata G overnance , and regulatory requirements .
• E xperience with sovereign cloud and data solutions.
• Previous experience in presales and preparing proposals funded through Microsoft programs .
• Experience working with enterprise customers or the public sector .
